The treatment of Spongy (Gypsy) in Michigan is scheduled to begin 5/20 and will end in 6/1/2024.
Moth applications will be accomplished primarily with fixed wing aircraft. UAS (drone) operations will be utilized strategically when deemed necessary. A specific application date depends on many factors and can range from the middle of May to early June.  No reentry restrictions apply. All applications are at the manufacturers recommended 24 CLU/acre. The material being aerially applied is Foray 48B. This product is certified organic gardening. BTK is a naturally occurring bacteria found in soil specifically lethal to 1st to 4th instar feeding Spongy Moth Caterpillars.
